This building located at Jendral Ahmad Yani street is the first building
in Sumatera ever to use an elevator (in 1910). The elevator is still
functioning well to this day. This building used to be owned by
Julianagebouw, until it was taken over by British plantation company,
Harrison & Crossfield Ltd, which was then renamed into PT.
Perkebunan London Sumatera Indonesia. This triangular building is made
of Aberdeens granite as ballast, brought all the way from Britain. The
building has a British Colonial Style influence in architecture as seen
in Singapore, Malaysia, India, as well as other former British occupied
lands. There is also a duplicate of this building in London.
