Hard effort in developing tourism industry and improving tourism attraction by Jakarta Provincial Government along this year gives good result. In 2011 Indonesia Tourism Award (ITA) 2011, Jakarta reached The Best Province for Tourism Development category.

Arie Budhiman as Head of Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department stated this achievement has proven hard work and high commitment of the government in developing the best Jakarta tourism world in Indonesia.

“We must be grateful because this achievement of all tourism and Jakarta residents who have made Jakarta as the best province in developing tourism in Indonesia,” he added, Thursday (12/8).

This ITA is conducted annually by Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry together with SWA magazine. This achievement is a step to appreciate efforts by local government in developing tourism industry in the area and the actors in this industry. 

This 2011 ITA award is given through city/regent survey which is chosen based on the amount of budget which allocated in Local Budget (APBD) and focus group discussion (FGD) SWA magazine editorial team.

As for the surveyed category, the best regent/city in tourism service, the favorite tourism destination, favorite tourism object, the best supporting tourism industry which consist of 9  sub categories are non-star hotel, star hotel, flight batch, tourism travel, taxi, restaurant, spa and mall.

In this event, special award is also given to regional, from many deficiency, still has high commitment to develop tourism industry.
