Day 2. Makassar City Tour – Karebosi Field (BLD)

Observing and activity at Paotere Traditional Harbor

Paotere is the harbor in the north of Makassar where traditional Buginese sailing boats (Phinisi) load and unload their cargo. It is fascinating to see the boat workers running across narrow wooden planks from the dock to the boats carrying unbelievably large loads. The Phinisi have been motorised and the number length of the masts have been reduced, but these boats still make attractive subjects for photography.

China Town is an old city in the ming dynasti, which around the 16th century they visited the southern coast in around Fort Rotterdam to trade, but as the development of business, they finally settle and form a community on the coast, exactly around the archipelago.

Observing and activity at Fort Rotterdam

Fort Fort Rotterdam is building remnants of history which is very significant for the people of Makassar. This fort is a symbol of the tenacity of the people against the power of the Company Makassar in the Netherlands. At first fort was built by Sultan Daeng Bonto Karaeng (Raja Gowa-Tallo to IX) in 1545. Fortress also often referred to as Fortress Panyyua which means turtle. This is caused by the shape of the building structure fortress-shaped when viewed from above the turtle. Turtle itself is a symbol of the Kingdom of Gowa-Tallo that has a meaning that Gowa-Tallo is a big country victorious on land and at sea. It is said here is often carried out massacres, so there are many bodies Dutch in it. Many communities also have claimed to see apparitions at some point in this Fort Rotterdam. Whether it's a ghost that looked like the Dutch in antiquity. As well as other ghosts. But, in addition to all the Fort Fort Rotterdam remains crowded by visitors who are curious about this place. Somba Opu Shopping Centre has plenty of shops with great collections of jewellery, “antiques” and souvenirs, including crafts from all over Indonesia, such as Kendari filigree silver jewelery, Torajan handicrafts, Chinese pottery, Makassarese brass work, and silk cloth from Sengkang. Shopping centres are the place to be for most Makassarese.

For the citizens of Makassar, stories mystical and the supernatural in Karebosi field is not new. Not a few who believe that a variety of strange events beyond logic that appears in field becomes zero kilometer point of the city of Makassar it is the act of "guards" who dwells there. Many are often experienced strange events in the field, including PSM players who often practice there. People who travel frequently to Karebosi Field Makassar generally have understood that the pitch was storing a lot of myths and there often appear events beyond common sense. In Karebosi Field there are watchman named strange human Tujua. The strange human Tujua until now the most legendary in South Sulawesi, is said in the story that is circulating in the community of South Sulawesi, strange human Tujua are derived from the 7 child of king, was so naughty, when they die, are not accepted in the hereafter, in meaning myth story, until now the 7 naughty children of the king are still alive wandering between the natural world and natural hereafter. It is said that again, the grave of the man's strange Tujua is 7 cemetery contained in Karebosi field. Tujua spirit of this strange man, he can be used for injuring or killing someone without having to touch them or in Indonesia called "menyantet", and until now there are still many who believe in the human spirit's strange Tujua. Of the 7 people Tujua, the most powerful is Bungsu, Bungsu has a cleft lip and could not talk alias mute.

Day 3. Makassar – Toraja (BLD)

You will take the time around 8 to 9 hours to get North Toraja. On the way, you will passed some regency which has the uniqueness of each. Beside that, you can see the beautiful scenery along the way. Lunch will be served at local restaurant in Pare-Pare city.

Day 4. Kambira Baby Grave - Tampang Allo - Suaya – Lemo – Londa (BLD)

Observing and activity at Kambira

Kambira is located in Buntu Sangalla village. It was a tree grave. Only little baby corpses that buried here. They were buried in that big tree. There are baby graves in the living tree called passiliran.

Observing and activity at Tampang Allo

Tampang Allo is located in Sangalla' District. This site is natural cave with ancient wooden coffins and effigies (tau-tau) belong to the nobleman in this local area, Puang Menturino with his wife Rangga Bulaan and descendant. There is a baby grave on the living tree that similar to one in Kambira. There is also a footpath through to Suaya about 300 metres.

Observing and activity at Suaya

Suaya is located 11 kms on the east of Makale in Sangalla' District. The royal cliff burial site with some effigies and the ancient carving wooden coffins called erong are found there. The stone graves are dedicated to the nobleman Puang Tamboro Langi' and his descendant. Near there we can lso see a place of burial ceremony for the nobleman name Rantelobe with some megalith stones are constucted. These graves belong to the kings of Sangalla'.

Lemo is the stone carve grave on the cliff burial site of the ancient Torajan chieftain. Galeries of statues rows on the cliff symbolized of the dead. Some workshops produce statues as the souvenirs are scattered about the area.

Observing and activity at Londa

Londa is a steep rocky sides graves. One ot its sides is located on a higher place from the hills which has a deep caves where you can see coffins that arearranged and grouped based on the family lines. On the other side of the hill, on the balcony, dozens of “tau-tau” seems to be a life, stand straight with eyes opened, are looking over the beautiful landscape of this area. If you are lucky, you can see directly the funeral ceremony of Torajan people named Rambu Solo'. The ceremony is often held weeks, months, or years after the death so that the deceased’s family can raise the significant funds needed to cover funeral expenses. Torajans traditionally believe that death is not a sudden, abrupt event but a gradual process toward Puya (the land of souls, or afterlife). It is based on a strong belief that the soul of the deceased travels to the land of the south and in this land of eternity, he will need all the requisites of everyday life in the hereafter just like when he was alive in this world.

Observing and activity at Sa'dan Village

One of famous folklore in Toraja is Landorundun. Landorundun is one of beautiful girl in Toraja, where Landorundun have very long hair. Landorundun was born in Sa'dan Village. In this village there are one place named Landorundun Museum. In this museum there is a comb which is often used by Landorundun to comb her hair. Often at night, local communities usually heard of anyone who was combing the hair. In this village also, there are strange man that people Torajan called Parakang. Parakang is a kind of ghost incarnation of human which can be changed. Parakang supposedly is very dangerous, Parakang usually suck the baby's gut and consume people who are sick. It is said to repel Parakang, can hit the body using one piece of a broom stick. Hit them just once. If more than once, it is said that hitting was subjected to Parakang.

Drive back to Makassar via the same road of 1st day. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. In the afternoon, arrive in Makassar. Onwards, transfer directly to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport Makassar to catch your flight for your next destination.
